Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks, on over-the-road (OTR) routes.
- Safely load, unload, and secure freight using manual handling techniques and equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while complying with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Handle hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods according to federal safety standards, including hazardous materials regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker).
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving.
- Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling and securing cargo safely.
- Familiarity with various types of trucks such as tractor-trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds, tanker trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and hazardous materials regulations.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and logistics cargo handling equipment like forklifts is preferred.
- Excellent manual handling skills and physical stamina to load/unload freight as needed.

Pay: $1,500.00 - $2,000.00 per week
Work Location: On the road
