The Canteen Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Canteen, ensuring smooth service, managing staff and maximizing profitability. · Staff Management: Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising bar staff.
· Administrative and Payroll: Prepare banks, balance daily ledgers, monitor timekeeping and run biweekly payroll. Maintain accurate, organized records for consult with tax preparer. Proficient in use of MS Office, Excel, & Quickbooks.
· Inventory and Ordering: Managing inventory levels, placing orders for supplies and controlling costs.
· Customer Service: Ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for Post members and guests.
· Financial Management: Run payroll, handle banking transactions, maintain budgets, monitor costs, and track sales. Responsible for reporting with regard to gaming, inventory, sales, taxes, etc.
· Operations: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Canteen, including opening and closing procedures, cleanliness, and safety.
· Special Events: Planning and executing special events, promotions, and marketing activities.
· Vendor Relations: Building and maintaining relationships with vendors.
· Quality Control: Ensuring consistent quality of environment, products and services.
· Bar Operations: Understanding of bar procedures, including pouring, serving, and managing a fast-paced environment.
· Inventory Control: Create and maintain an inventory system efficiently managing stock, ordering supplies, and minimizing loss and waste.
· POS System Knowledge: Proficiency in point-of-sale systems for accurate sales tracking and reconciliation.
· Customer Service: Provide exceptional service and handle customer complaints effectively.
· Alcohol and Beverage Knowledge: Understanding of spirits, wines, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
· Industry Regulations: Familiarity with Federal, State, and Municipal regulations. Ability to acquire and maintain TAP certification.
· Time Management: Prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines effectively. Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate emergencies or special events.
· Conflict Resolution: Discreetly handling issues to ensure smooth operations.
