American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care / Cardiac Telemetry position in Hawaii, requiring a valid HI RN license and at least 1 year of acute care experience.

Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) within a hospital setting
-
15-bed unit comprised of 3 Step-Down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
-
Patient ratios: 1:4 for Progressive Care, 1:3 for Step-Down ICU
-
Key procedures include primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood glucose testing
-
Equipment includes continuous cardiac monitors, BiPAP, and Pyxis medication dispensing
-
Charting via Meditech
-
Varied shift schedule, 36 hours per week (after the first week of orientation)
-
No on-call requirements
-
Floating required to all acute care units in-house, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ED
-
13-week contract
-
Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment — candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer

Current BLS/BCLS required

Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year

Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred

ACLS preferred
-
Current PALS preferred

NIHSS certification preferred

All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of assignment; this appointment is held at the facility's Employee Health office and attendance is mandatory

Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start date in order to attend the Employee Health appointment on Friday morning
