The Security Supervisor supports site security operations by leading frontline security coverage to ensure a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and company assets. This role provides day-to-day supervision of security officers, supports access control and patrol activities, monitors surveillance systems, responds to incidents, and ensures accurate reporting and compliance with company security and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Frontline Security Operations
- Supervise daily security coverage including access control, patrol activities, and surveillance monitoring.
- Perform routine patrols to verify safety standards and security protocols are followed.
- Monitor CCTV and other security technology to identify suspicious activity or security risks and take appropriate action.
Team Supervision & Scheduling Support
- Lead and direct security officers during assigned shifts, including post coverage, task assignments, and real-time support.
- Support shift coverage planning and call-outs to maintain required staffing levels.
- Provide coaching and feedback to security staff to reinforce expectations and professionalism.
Incident Response & Investigation Support
- Respond to security incidents or emergencies, assess the situation, and coordinate with management and emergency responders as needed.
- Assist with investigations related to theft, vandalism, access violations, or other security incidents; preserve information and evidence when applicable.
- Ensure timely completion of incident reports, shift logs, and supporting documentation.
Access Control & Loss Prevention
- Oversee access control processes for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors, ensuring proper authorization, logging, and badge control.
- Support maintenance of visitor logs, access records, and badge systems.
- Identify security vulnerabilities and escalate recommendations to leadership to reduce risk and support loss prevention.
Compliance, Safety & Preparedness
- Support compliance with health, safety, and security standards; reinforce safe work practices and site rules.
- Assist with safety drills, emergency preparedness activities, and security audits as assigned.
- Maintain required certifications related to safety and emergency response as applicable (e.g., First Aid/CPR preferred).
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of security activities, patrol logs, incident documentation, and surveillance retention processes.
- Provide regular shift updates and escalations to the Security Manager / Assistant Manager.
Education/Experience
- Bachelors degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Intelligence Studies, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field and 2 years of supervisory experience required.
- Certified Security Manager (CSM) certification required.
Skills
- Working knowledge of security operations, CCTV monitoring, and access control procedures.
- Strong conflict management and de-escalation skills; ability to remain calm during emergencies.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with employees, visitors, contractors, and emergency services.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and reporting.
- Flexibility to support business needs, including nights/weekends/holidays when required.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments with both indoor and outdoor conditions depending on patrol requirements.
- Frequent interaction with employees, visitors, contractors, vendors, and emergency services.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
- Ability to lift or carry equipment as required.
