We are a group of mid-market construction companies specializing in heavy civil, paving, grading, and related services. With a strong reputation for quality, safety, and reliability, we are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at our Madison, GA office. This role is critical in keeping our financial operations organized, accurate, and efficient.
Position overview
The Bookkeeper will manage day-to-day financial recordkeeping and accounting functions across our group of companies. This is a full-time, in-person position based at our Madison, GA office.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and maintain company accounting records in QuickBooks and Foundation construction accounting software.
- Prepare and process customer invoices accurately and on time.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments.
- Reconcile company credit cards and bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Support payroll functions, including employee timekeeping and timesheet reviews.
- Maintain organized digital and paper files for accounting and compliance.
- Provide financial reporting and administrative support to management as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Foundation, or similar accounting software.
- Familiarity with construction industry accounting practices is a plus.
- Strong understanding of invoicing, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping principles.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and clients.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule & compensation
- Schedule: Full-time, in person, 40 hours per week
- Pay: $38.50 – $48.00 per hour (~$80,000 – $100,000 annually)
- Annual performance bonus
