Position Summary
Jamison Construction is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Division Manager to launch and lead our new Grading & Site Development Division. This is a unique opportunity for a proven leader to build a division from the ground up while leveraging the financial strength, reputation, and resources of an established commercial concrete contractor.
The Division Manager will be responsible for developing the business, building relationships with owners and general contractors, hiring and leading a high-performing team, overseeing estimating and operations, and driving profitability. This individual will have the autonomy to shape the division while being supported by executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategic growth plan for the Grading Division.
- Establish relationships with owners, developers, engineers, and general contractors.
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities.
- Build and lead the estimating, project management, and field operations teams.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent.
- Oversee all grading and site development projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, equipment utilization, and manpower.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Develop operating procedures and best practices for the division.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and equipment resources.
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and growth plans.
- Report division performance directly to the CEO.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in commercial grading, earthwork, or site development.
- Demonstrated success managing large commercial grading projects.
- Experience estimating grading and site development work.
- Strong understanding of GPS machine control, earthwork quantities, utility coordination, and scheduling.
- Proven ability to develop business and maintain client relationships.
- Experience managing multiple project managers and superintendents.
- Strong financial and operational leadership skills.
- Ability to build and grow a division from startup to a market leader.
