Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise in handling flatbeds, step deck , and hazardous materials will ensure timely and secure deliveries. Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmission on diverse routes, including long-haul OTR journeys and local deliveries.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Navigate using GPS systems to follow optimized routes, ensuring on-time deliveries while adhering to DOT regulations.
- Transport a variety of cargo such as refrigerated goods, automobile transportation units, flatbed loads, or tanker shipments with precision and care.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips; conduct manual handling tasks for cargo loading and unloading while maintaining safety standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and compliance documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving is essential.
- Proven experience in delivery driving, route driving, or freight transportation involving tractor-trailers.
- Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operation, hazardous materials regulations, and dangerous goods handling is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient logistics cargo handling.
- Ability to operate trucks with manual transmission and perform manual handling tasks safely.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA standards, and hazardous materials regulations governing commercial trucking.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service.
