Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive ballet curricula tailored to various age groups and skill levels, incorporating both classical techniques and creative movement
- Lead engaging dance classes that promote proper technique, posture, and musicality while maintaining a positive and motivating environment
- Design choreography for student performances, recitals, and community events that showcase their growth and talents
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for all students
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and fellow instructors to coordinate student development plans and special projects
- Incorporate elements of musical instruments, theater experience, or other performing arts to enrich dance instruction when appropriate
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching ballet and working with children or youth programs in a classroom setting
- Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and choreography creation
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Experience working with diverse learners, including those with special education needs or early childhood development backgrounds
- Ability to teach visual & performing arts with enthusiasm and clarity; familiarity with teaching instrumental performance or music is a plus
- Skills in photography or sewing are advantageous for costume design or documenting performances
- Certification or training in early childhood education or preschool experience is preferred
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for nurturing artistic growth in students
