Job Summary
We are seeking a Workers' Compensation Coordinator to serve as the primary liaison between the practice, employers, nurse case managers, adjusters, and referral partners. This role is responsible for coordinating workers' compensation patient care while developing and maintaining strong client relationships that drive referral growth. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-service driven, and enjoys building professional relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of workers' compensation referrals from initial contact through case completion
- Schedule new patient appointments, follow-up visits, and surgical consultations for workers' compensation patients
- Communicate with employers, adjusters, nurse case managers, occupational health clinics, patients, and providers regarding appointments, authorizations, and treatment plans
- Obtain and verify insurance information, claim details, and prior authorizations
- Ensure receipt of medical records, imaging, and other required documentation prior to appointments
- Monitor referral workflow to ensure timely scheduling and completion of reports
- Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR and case management systems
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with nurse case managers, adjusters, employers, safety managers, and case management companies
- Identify prospective referral sources and support initiatives to expand the practice's workers' compensation presence
- Assist in coordinating physician meet-and-greet visits, educational presentations, and lunch-and-learn events
- Represent the practice at industry conferences, networking events, employer functions, and community outreach activities
- Assist in planning client appreciation events
- Monitor referral trends and provide recommendations to support business growth
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding workers' compensation processes and requirements
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Travel to satellite locations as needed

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience in workers' compensation coordination
- Previous experience in an orthopedic practice is preferred
