About Point One
Point One is a Northern California low-voltage systems contractor specializing in structured cabling, audiovisual, fire alarm, ERRCS, nurse call, security, and Cellular DAS. We serve industrial, commercial, institutional, and high-density residential clients, including complex HCAI-regulated hospital work and university projects. We operate with union labor (IBEW) and emphasize disciplined project execution, code compliance, and margin recovery.
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bid Coordinator to support our preconstruction and estimating efforts. This role is central to producing accurate, competitive, and compliant proposals for low-voltage scopes. You will coordinate the full bid process from RFP receipt through proposal submission, working closely with estimators, project managers, preconstruction, and field leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and track RFPs, invitations to bid, addenda, and bid documents.
- Distribute bid packages, drawings, specifications, and clarifications to internal stakeholders and subcontractors.
- Coordinate site walks, pre-bid meetings, and information gathering with project managers and field staff.
- Maintain bid calendars, deadlines, and internal tracking systems to ensure timely submissions.
- Compile proposal packages including scope narratives, exclusions, qualifications, pricing summaries, and required forms.
- Ensure proposals are completed in a professional manner and customer facing
- Maintain organized digital and physical bid files and update SharePoint/document management systems.
- Support post-bid follow-up, including scope reviews and handoff to operations when awarded.
Required Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent bids under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and document management platforms (SharePoint preferred).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with sales professionals, estimators and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in construction estimating, bid coordination, or project coordination (low-voltage, electrical, or related trade preferred).
- Familiarity with reading construction drawings, specifications, and addenda.
- Experience with low-voltage systems (structured cabling, fire alarm, ERRCS, nurse call, AV, DAS, or security).
- Knowledge of California construction practices, prevailing wage, and IBEW/NECA environments.
- Familiarity with estimating software or digital takeoff tools.
- Experience supporting institutional or healthcare (HCAI/OSHPD) projects.
