Part-time Religion Instructor for 2026-2027 School Year

St. Mary School, located in Aberdeen, WA, has an opening for a part-time Religion Instructor. This position seeks candidates with experience working with a wide age range of students in a classroom setting involving Catholic Religion instruction.
The position begins with the opening of the 2026-2027 school year.
Responsibilities:

Works collaboratively with the school’s Lead Religion teacher

Assists with instructing students in the Catholic faith utilizing the approved Religion curriculum

Adapts curriculum to the needs of the students with varying intellectual abilities, and accommodates a variety of instructional needs.

Evaluates each student’s faith knowledge growth, performance, and understanding in relationship to the level being taught; communicates with homeroom teacher individual student progress.

Follows Policies and Procedures as set forth by school administration and the Archdiocese of Seattle.

Provides a clean, safe, faith-filled and nurturing classroom environment.

Participates in staff meetings as needed

Maintains appropriate records for students

Establishes and maintains standards for acceptable student behavior using
appropriate classroom management techniques

Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; shares expertise with
others

All other duties as assigned
Schedule: To be determined and mutually agreed upon between employee and administration.
Qualifications:

Practicing Catholic (Required)
-
Demonstrated knowledge of Religion instruction practices/curriculum and Catholic Social Teachings and the ability to implement

Extended experience working with and instructing elementary aged children

Evidence of ability to interact collaboratively with students, parents, and
administration. -
Evidence of excellent oral and written skills.

Be at least 18 years of age

Have a high school diploma or equivalent; Associates and/or Bachelor Degree, a plus

Ability to complete the Seattle Archdiocese’s Safe Environment Training

Clear a Washington State Background Check
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
