You are applying because your mission is to provide the best education to every student. At Huntington Learning Center, we’re seeking passionate science and math educators to help students excel in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Statistics. In this role, you’ll work individually to strengthen student understanding, build confidence, and prepare them for major exams such as the ACT, SAT, and High School Placement Test (HSPT). Our tutors make a lasting difference by helping students master key STEM concepts through personalized instruction, encouragement, and consistent feedback.
As a biology tutor, you’ll guide students through essential topics such as cell biology, ecology, and evolution. Lessons may also include topics such as photosynthesis, DNA replication, gene expression and regulation, as well as cellular respiration. Many students seek help from freshman year biology up to AP bio and even introductory college-level biology coursework.
As a chemistry tutor, you’ll help students build a strong foundation in atomic structure, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, and acid-base reactions. You’ll also teach core concepts related to the periodic table, chemical equations, solutions and solubility, as well as laboratory safety. Our students often prepare for AP Chemistry and chemistry honors exams, where your guidance can boost both understanding and confidence.
As a physics tutor, you’ll support students in mastering mechanics, motion, forces, energy, and electricity. Other areas may include magnetism, kinematics, thermodynamics, waves and optics, circular motion, and Newton’s laws. Our students generally prepare for physics honors and even AP Physics exams, and your ability to connect theory to real-world applications will help them succeed.
As a math tutor, you'll help students tackle advanced coursework spanning Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, and Calculus. Lessons may cover functions and graphing, logarithms and exponentials, limits, derivatives, and integrals, as well as sequences, series, and applications of calculus. Many of our students prepare for honors math, AP Calculus AB and BC, and college placement exams, where your ability to break down complex problems into clear, manageable steps will make all the difference.
As a statistics tutor, you’ll teach data interpretation, probability, and regression analysis, as well as descriptive and inferential statistics. Lessons may cover correlation and regression, probability distributions, and sampling methods. Students working toward AP Statistics benefit greatly from instructors who can make challenging concepts feel logical and approachable.
At Huntington, flexibility is one of our greatest strengths. Even teachers who are available only two or three days per week can make a meaningful impact, and since we’re open six days a week, we’ll create a schedule that works for you. Students come in with their own materials, and we provide some of our own so you can focus on what you do best—teaching, motivating, and helping students grow.
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Education. Prior teaching, tutoring, or laboratory instruction experience is preferred, along with strong communication, patience, and organization. If you’re passionate about helping students reach their academic goals in science and math, we’d love for you to join our team. Whether your background is in biology, chemistry, physics, or statistics, your expertise can inspire students to succeed and help them develop confidence that extends far beyond the classroom.
