For over 70 years, we’ve offered programs in Day Habilitation, Residential, Respite, and Recreational Services, empowering individuals to live independently and fully participate in their communities.
Position Overview
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll provide hands-on care and guidance to individuals with I/DD. You’ll assist with daily living skills, promote independence, and support personal growth.
This role is ideal for anyone pursuing a career in nursing, social work, psychology, special education, or human services.
Direct Support Professional (DSP) Key Responsibilities:
- Support individuals with daily living skills such as cooking, laundry, personal care, and light housekeeping.
- Assist residents with appointments, community activities, and social engagement.
- Collaborate with House Managers and other DSPs to maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.
- Encourage independence, self-help skills, and dignity in all aspects of care.
- Participate actively in program activities and recreational outings.
- Maintain professionalism, respect, and compassion in every interaction.
- Serve as a role model through empathy, patience, and dedication.
Direct Support Professional (DSP) Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid NJ Driver’s License.
- 1 year of direct support or related experience (preferred).
- Ability to commute to Morris Plains, NJ and other county locations as needed.
