Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks and support kitchen staff with bussing tables and clearing dishes to ensure smooth service flow.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment by following sanitation protocols and health standards.
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and supplies safely while adhering to kitchen health and safety standards.
- Support food handling procedures by ensuring proper storage and disposal of waste to uphold sanitation requirements.
- Assist with food safety management practices by following proper hygiene practices during dishwashing and food handling activities.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting catering or banquet setups when needed, ensuring all items are sanitized and ready for service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures, sanitation standards, and kitchen health regulations.
- Ability to operate commercial dishwashing machines and basic kitchen equipment safely.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform heavy lifting, and perform manual handling tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene in all tasks.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting culinary staff and maintaining high standards of sanitation.
- Prior experience in catering or banquet settings is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn new skills is valued.
