Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, home health environments, and community-based programs. This vital role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence while delivering respectful and personalized care. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patients’ health by checking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safe and effective treatment
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning patient areas and ensuring hygiene standards are met
- Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR certification requirements, and emergency response plans during incidents or health crises
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health care, or group homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately
- Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration procedures, and HIPAA compliance is essential
- Hands-on experience using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON> equipment is a plus
- Strong background in providing compassionate patient care within long-term or hospice settings is valued
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required and work effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
