Captain Site Chef – Catering

Melons Catering is hiring an experienced Site Chef to run the kitchen at our catering events. If you love leading a team, plating beautiful food, and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment — we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do
- Lead the on-site kitchen crew from setup through breakdown
- Check food quality, presentation, and menu accuracy before every event
- Keep the team motivated and moving during peak service
- Manage staff schedules and coordinate with Front of House
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Be a friendly, confident face with clients on-site
What You Bring
- 3+ years leading a kitchen in high-end food & beverage
- Culinary degree/certificate or equivalent hands-on experience
- Strong leadership and people skills
- Valid CA driver's license (comfortable driving a box truck)
- Current ServSafe certification (or willing to get one)
- Able to stand for long shifts and lift up to 40 lbs
Bonus Points
Catering background, Spanish-speaking, special events experience
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
