American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Medical Surgical Float position requiring strong ortho experience and Cerner charting experience for first-time travelers.

Medical Surgical Float unit within a Level II Trauma, major teaching hospital
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:00
-
Contract runs through winter holiday coverage until 01/04/2027
-
Schedule is sent in 8-week increments
-
Required to meet full-time weekend requirement of 4 Saturdays and 4 Sundays

No on-call requirements

Float within scope required to meet facility needs

Uses Cerner charting system
-
Active WV or Compact RN license required
-
Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred
-
Strong orthopedic experience required
-
Cerner EMR experience required for first-time travelers

Pending licenses not accepted

Facility is a Short Term Acute Care, major teaching hospital and member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH) with 330 total staffed beds

First-time travelers accepted if they have Cerner experience

Only one of the three major holidays may be requested off, subject to client approval

Standard block scheduling not guaranteed, though facility will attempt to accommodate

Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted

Travel pairs are not accepted for this position

Black scrubs required, or a Cabell T-shirt may be worn in place of a scrub top
-
Surgery scrubs are provided and required when reporting to the Surgery department
