Job Title: Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray Tech)
Location: North Bergen, NJ
Duration: 14 Weeks
Job Summary: The Radiologic Technologist I performs diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level without constant supervision. This role ensures high-quality imaging, patient safety, and adherence to established clinical protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures by positioning patients and selecting appropriate technical factors based on individual needs.
- Operate radiographic equipment for a variety of imaging procedures.
- Apply radiation safety practices using collimation, shielding, and ALARA principles.
- Conduct portable X-ray exams in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency settings.
- Accurately label and document imaging studies, ensuring proper patient identification.
- Process and manage images using systems such as PACS.
- Complete and maintain patient requisitions and imaging records.
- Prepare and assist in administering contrast media under physician supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of imaging rooms and equipment.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling, patient communication, and record keeping.
- Assist patients with mobility, positioning, and transfers during procedures.
- Deliver patient-centered care tailored to age, culture, language, and special needs.
- Follow organizational standards, safety regulations, and departmental protocols.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift at least 5 lbs
- Push/pull at least 10 lbs
- Stand for extended periods (up to 6 hours per day)
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Completion of clinical training and eligibility for ARRT certification
- Active state license (as applicable)
- Ability to obtain and maintain national registry certification
Required Certifications:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- BLS (AHA)
- NJDEP (or applicable state requirement)
