Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Henderson, CO
Duration: 12 Months Contract (Possible Extension)
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide real-time production support by developing and improving manufacturing processes, tooling, and documentation. This role focuses on driving safety, quality, and delivery improvements while executing small to medium-sized projects, supporting production issues, and serving as a technical resource on the manufacturing floor.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Process Support
- Support production needs in real time through process, tooling, and documentation solutions.
- Act as the first line of support for process-related issues.
- Investigate and resolve production issues using structured problem-solving techniques.
- Provide solutions or escalate issues within 24 hours.
- Participate in operations meetings (PQP, End-of-Day meetings, etc.).
Safety
- Stop unsafe work immediately.
- Report hazards and incidents promptly.
- Use required PPE at all times.
- Correct hazards within your control.
- Identify risks and collaborate with the team to implement solutions.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Work Instructions & Documentation
- Create, update, and maintain accurate work instructions and process documentation.
- Review production issues related to documentation.
- Validate work instructions with production operators.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, usable, and up to date.
Tooling & Equipment Support
- Ensure tooling supports efficient and repeatable manufacturing processes.
- Complete validation testing for new tooling.
- Resolve or escalate tooling improvements within 48 hours.
- Follow MOC and MCR processes for tooling changes.
- Maintain required documentation for tooling updates.
Project Execution
- Independently execute small to medium-sized manufacturing projects.
- Deliver projects on time with measurable results.
- Track and document project progress.
- Utilize Excel, Time Studies, 5 Why Analysis, MOC, and cross-functional collaboration tools.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Implement and validate process enhancements.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and HSE teams to improve manufacturing performance.
Quality & Process Control
- Support root cause analysis activities.
- Ensure process changes are properly documented and controlled.
- Update process documentation following changes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and support teams.
- Provide project updates during meetings and via email.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities during process improvements and projects.
- Organize and participate in meetings as required.
