Duties
- Install, assemble, and maintain sprinkler piping systems following blueprints, schematics, and construction plans
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure precise pipe layout and fitting
- Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, calipers, and tube bending equipment safely and effectively on construction sites
- Perform welding tasks including MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG welding, and welding to join pipes securely according to industry standards such as NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) codes
- Solder pipes and fittings accurately to ensure leak-proof connections in fire sprinkler systems
- Conduct pipe installation activities adhering to safety regulations, ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards, and NFPA standards for fire sprinkler fitting
- Rigging pipes and components for installation while maintaining strict safety protocols on construction sites
- Use basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and layout planning during system installation or repairs
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed in compliance with safety regulations and project specifications
- Assist in routine maintenance of sprinkler systems to ensure ongoing functionality and compliance with safety standards
Experience
- Proven experience in construction or manufacturing environments involving pipe installation or plumbing tasks
- Skilled in MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding, soldering, and welding techniques with a solid understanding of welding safety practices
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Knowledge of NFPA standards related to fire sprinkler systems and ASME codes & standards for piping and pipeline fabrication
- Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, pipe threading machines, calipers, tube benders, and rigging equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to plumbing systems, HVAC components, or pipeline assembly
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for precise system installation or repair tasks
- Construction site experience demonstrating adaptability to dynamic environments while maintaining safety protocols
