Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide essential support to individuals in their homes or community settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and a strong understanding of medical terminology. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or Alzheimer’s care needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients while promoting independence.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper medication management.
- Assist with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect client confidentiality and privacy.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Provide specialized care for clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia, ensuring a supportive environment conducive to their well-being.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health care, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Certification in CPR is required; additional certifications in caregiving or home health aide training are a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with hospice care practices is beneficial for providing compassionate end-of-life support.
- Strong observational skills to monitor patient conditions effectively and report any changes promptly.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving duties including lifting and transferring clients safely.
