JOB SUMMARY:
- Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following standards and practices.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

Performs general nursing care to patients.

Administers prescribed medication and treatments in accordance with nursing standards, reports any reaction to provider.

Prepares equipment and aids provider during treatments, examinations, and testing of patients.

Admits patients to rooms, screen for proper information, and prepares for examination.

Assists in scheduling any additional patient testing needed.
-
Anticipates providers needs for any patient exams or procedures.

Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.

Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.

Performs proper charting.
-
Alert provider to phone messages from hospital or other providers and handles appropriately.
- Be willing to help with extra duties as needed.

Follows correct procedures for the handling and disposing of infectious waste.

Complies with safety procedures.
-
Communicates with patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous manner.
-
Attends and participates in departmental meetings and participates on committees as requested.
-
Assist other nursing personnel with performance of their duties as assigned and as workload permits. Function as relief for other personnel as appropriate and to facilitate coworkers taking of time off.
- May need to work extended hours, help cover lunch breaks, and work Saturdays as scheduled.

EDUCATION:

Associates Degree from accredited School of Practical Nursing
EXPERIENCE:
CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Required

State of Nebraska LPN or Multi-State LPN License
-
CPR Certification within 90 days after employment
