Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Spray Technician specializing in diagnosing plant health issues and applying fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides to commercial or residential properties. This role requires technical knowledge of turfgrass and ornamental plant species, a strong commitment to environmental and personal safety, and the ability to operate specialized application equipment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create beautiful, functional environments for our clients.
Duties
- Apply liquid and granular fertilizers, weed control, and pest/disease treatments to lawns, trees, and shrubs according to scheduled programs and strict safety guidelines.
- Routinely inspect properties to identify weed infestations, insect damage, fungal diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Safely operate and maintain specialized equipment, including commercial spray rigs, tank sprayers, granular spreaders, and injection tools.
- Accurately measure, mix, and load chemicals into application equipment following strict label instructions and safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed, legally compliant logs of all chemical applications, including weather conditions, product amounts used, target pests, and treatment areas.
- Interact professionally with clients to explain treatment plans, answer questions about property health, and provide instructions on post-treatment care (e.g., watering schedules, pet safety).
- Drive a company vehicle to clients’ locations, make necessary applications, and provide clients with documentation of service at job location.
- Maintain vehicle and equipment through keeping vehicles clean and follow through on regular and general maintenance.
- Notify supervisor immediately of any problems with vehicle, equipment, or completed scheduled work in a timely manner.
- Promptly respond (in 24-48 hours) to client questions or requests for additional services.
- Evaluate entire job site for any additional work, repairs, and/or improvements needed and notify supervisor in a timely manner for client follow up.
- Input information for completed work into computer system at the end of each workday.
- Keep work/storage areas clean and organized.
- Notify supervisor of any additional materials and equipment needed to perform the job.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Turfcare experience (turfware, zspray, stinger, or other lawn application specific machines)
- Knowledge of spraying/spreading equipment
- Insecticide, pesticides, fungicide, and fertilizer knowledge preferred
- Ability to read and understand a pesticide label
- Ability to calculate rates and amounts of products needed to complete work.
- Minimum 1 year of experience making liquid and granular application to turfgrass/ornamental landscapes
- Ability to maintain and personify our core values - positive attitude, customer first, professionalism, dedication, and have a desire to succeed.
- Must be able to perform physical labor for prolonged periods of time in a wide range of climatic conditions including extremes of heat and cold.
- Must have a current driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to drive a truck with a trailer.

- 6:30 am – 5:00 pm
Work Location: In person
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
