Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist with food prep tasks according to established recipes and standards
- Cook menu items efficiently while maintaining quality, safety, and presentation standards
- Follow food safety protocols and proper handling procedures to ensure a hygienic kitchen environment
- Support kitchen staff with slicing, portioning, and assembling dishes using precise knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
- Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs
- Adhere to safety standards in production and ensure all food handling practices meet regulatory requirements
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurants or catering services
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and handling procedures
- Skilled in using knives effectively with excellent slicing techniques
- Experience with menu planning and meal preparation processes
- Familiarity with dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a positive attitude toward serving guests and supporting colleagues
