Job Overview
A well-established, historic bed and breakfast in the Asheville area is seeking a Part-time self-motivated Groundskeeper to take full ownership of our grounds. This role is ideal for someone who doesn't need direction to know what needs to be done — someone who sees a task, prioritizes it, and gets it handled.
What You'll Own
- The overall appearance and condition of the property's lawns, landscaping, and outdoor spaces
- Mowing, edging, planting, weeding, pruning, mulching and seasonal bed maintenance
- Walkways, driveway, and parking area upkeep
- Light exterior maintenance (power washing, gutter checks, minor repairs)
- Monitoring drainage and addressing any watering-related issues
- Equipment care and organization
- Identifying and addressing grounds needs before they're asked for
What We're Looking For
- A true self-starter who can independently manage priorities and workload with minimal oversight
- Prior groundskeeping, landscaping, or property maintenance experience preferred
- Comfortable operating standard lawn and garden equipment
- Maintain equipment through routine cleaning and preventative maintenance to ensure longevity and optimal performance
- Strong ownership mentality — you treat the property like it's yours
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to track time spent on tasks and communicate progress regularly
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather
