We're looking for a dependable and compassionate Weekend Cook to join our team and help create those moments for our residents. If you enjoy cooking, take pride in preparing quality meals, and want your work to have a meaningful impact, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and serve nutritious, homestyle meals for residents according to planned menus
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
- Accommodate resident dietary needs and special meal requests as directed
- Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs to management
- Assist with meal preparation, kitchen cleanup, and proper food storage
- Work closely with caregivers and leadership to provide an exceptional dining experience for residents
What We're Looking For
- Previous cooking, food service, or kitchen experience preferred
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Ability to work independently and manage meal preparation for multiple residents
- Reliable, punctual, and organized
- Friendly, caring personality with a desire to serve seniors
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
Requirements
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check
- Must be eligible to work in an assisted living community under New Mexico regulations
- Current New Mexico Food Handler Certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain shortly after hire)
- Must be able to comply with all state and facility health and safety requirements
