American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with CVOR and Neurosurgery experience for a full-time, 13-week travel assignment in a General Surgery unit at an acute care hospital in Corpus Christi, TX.

Academic teaching facility affiliated with the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine

Accredited Chest Pain Center and Joint Commission Stroke Team

Surgical specialties include Cardiac, General, Ortho, Plastics, Uro, ENT, Vascular, and Neurosurgery

Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM

13-week contract

Minimum of 2 years of Neurosurgery experience required
-
CVOR experience required
-
CST credential or LVN/LPN license required; license required if applicable

BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
-
High School diploma or equivalent required
-
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or LVN/LPN program required

Ability to proficiently scrub at least 3 surgical specialty areas
-
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Experience in General, Ortho, Plastics, Uro, ENT, and Vascular surgery is preferred
-
Preferred ability to scrub specialty areas including Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Robotics, and Titanium Rib procedures
-
Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining sterile fields, passing instruments and sutures, and setting up the OR using physician preference cards
-
Prepares patient skin for surgery and maintains aseptic technique throughout all procedures
-
Positions patients appropriately for the type of surgery and transports patients to and from the OR
-
Identifies, labels, and cares for biological specimens
-
Maintains OR traffic control, dress code compliance, and adherence to sanitation policies
-
Familiar with facility policies regarding decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments and supplies
-
2 professional references are required for consideration

An active copy of all required certifications must be provided for consideration — expired certifications will result in disqualification
