Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Part-Time Experienced Fabricator/Ironworker with proficient welding expertise. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, executing precise welds, and assembling metal structures in a fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about precision, accuracy, safety, and delivering high-quality results.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, to determine fabrication specifications and procedures
- Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS standards
- Measure and mark metal materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication
- Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using plasma cutters, power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment
- Fabricate Railings, stairs, metal structures and components adhering to ASME codes & standards while maintaining safety protocols at all times
- Operate Bandsaw, ironworker, plasma cutter, compressor
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience with a strong background in metal fabrication and assembly
- Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding; certification preferred
- Experience reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints accurately
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise fabrication tasks
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and adherence to OSHA standards
- Mechanical knowledge of construction materials like steel, sheet metal, and other metals used in fabrication projects
- Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, plasma cutting equipment, machining tools, and assembly processes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for proper fabrication and assembly procedures
- Strong attention to detail combined with basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations
- Prior experience working within a fabrication shop environment or on construction sites is highly desirable
- Must be a certified welder by NYC Department of Buildings, Must have certifications to use torch, must have OSHA 30 certification.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
