Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight safely and efficiently across diverse routes. In this role, you will operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Your expertise in logistics cargo handling, route driving, and hazardous materials regulations will be essential to maintaining our high standards of service. Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes using GPS navigation systems, ensuring on-time arrivals and pickups.
- Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo integrity and safety during transport.
- Transport various types of freight, including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, flatbed loads, and tanker shipments.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records in line with logistics cargo handling standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route adjustments, delivery status, or safety concerns.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with necessary endorsements for refrigerated trailers, hazmat, tanker, or flatbed as applicable.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving on route driving or over-the-road (OTR) routes.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT regulations, and safety protocols.
- Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks during loading and unloading processes.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight manually and perform vehicle inspections regularly.
