Opportunity Summary:
Four Pillars Lodging (FPL) is a growth-oriented hotel management company built on operational discipline, strong service standards, and a guest-first culture. We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician who will help keep our hotels safe, clean, functional, and “guest ready” every day.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in fixing and improving things, and can shift between preventative maintenance, repairs, and supporting basic property operations when needed.
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing a wide range of tasks at the hotel including, but not limited to, preventative maintenance, responding to work orders, cleaning and maintaining public areas, preparing rooms for housekeeping, and assisting with laundry duties as needed. In a lean-staffed environment, this role is highly hands-on and plays a key part in keeping the property running smoothly and meeting guest experience standards.
Responsibilities:
Preventative Maintenance & Work Orders
- Manage and complete maintenance work orders in a timely manner while adhering to the property’s preventative maintenance schedule.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend the life of hotel equipment, fixtures, and finishes.
- Identify issues early and communicate repair needs, parts requirements, and vendor needs to management as appropriate.
Repairs & General Property Maintenance
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks as trained and assigned, which may include:
- Carpet shampooing and hard-surface floor cleaning
- Light electrical work (e.g., changing outlets or wall switches)
- Light plumbing (e.g., plunging/snaking toilets, unclogging sinks)
- Public space janitorial work and upkeep
- Parking lot upkeep and trash cleanup
- PTAC cleaning
- Drywall repair, painting, caulking, and minor patchwork
- Support cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of back-of-house areas and exterior areas as assigned.
Inventory & Tools
- Maintain and manage inventory of maintenance supplies, parts, and tools.
- Provide supply and ordering needs to management to ensure operational continuity and timely repairs.
Housekeeping & Room Readiness Support
- Prepare rooms for housekeeping as needed, which may include removing linens and trash, moving furniture, and identifying and communicating room maintenance needs.
- Coordinate with housekeeping/front desk leadership to prioritize urgent room needs based on occupancy and guest expectations.
Laundry & Operational Support
- Assist with laundry duties as needed to support daily operations and room readiness.
Safety, Security & Emergency Procedures
- Know and follow property emergency procedures and help ensure the security needs of the property and guests are met.
- Use tools, ladders, and chemicals safely; report hazards and incidents promptly per policy.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, consistent with hotel operations and business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to complete hands-on maintenance and cleaning tasks with strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with leadership and teammates.
- Willingness to learn and follow property standards, checklists, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Flexible schedule availability is required, inclusive of nights & weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in hotel maintenance, facilities, construction trades, or general property upkeep.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and basic work order systems.
- Experience working in a lean staffing environment where cross-functional support is needed.
Working Conditions:
- Repetitive stair climbing and ladder use.
- Ability to kneel, squat, sit, stand, bend, and twist for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
