Role Description
VP is seeking a Shop Assistant to support daily operations at our Shreveport facility. This role plays an important part in keeping the shop organized, efficient, and ready to support our technicians and customers.
The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, organized, and willing to learn. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the pump and equipment service industry while working alongside experienced mechanics and technicians.
Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain shop tools, equipment, and work areas
- Stage materials, parts, and components for technicians and repair jobs
- Assist with basic equipment assembly, disassembly, cleaning, and preparation
- Support shipping and receiving activities, including loading, unloading, and verifying materials
- Label, stock, and organize inventory accurately
- Follow work orders, instructions, and shop procedures
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Complete basic documentation, checklists, and inventory records
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
- Work closely with technicians, mechanics, and supervisors to help ensure jobs stay on schedule
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work with tools and equipment
- Ability to lift and move materials safely
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Previous shop, warehouse, industrial, or mechanical experience is a plus, but not required

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
