Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Consumer Loan Officer to join our Consumer Lending team. In this role, you will be the key driver in helping members secure personal loans, guiding them through the loan origination process with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Role: To assist members with their consumer lending needs; analyze loan requests and make credit decisions based on lending policies, procedures and guidelines.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Analyzes current financial position of borrowers to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money. Makes decision to approve, deny, or forward the loan request to higher levels for decision.
- Evaluates member needs and recommends loan options accordingly. Discusses loan programs and terms and conditions of an approved loan with members.
- Participates in sales developmental activities, which may include working Saturdays and evening hours as the work load demands.
- Prepares and/or reviews all loan documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Keeps informed of current trends in consumer credit.
- Follows current loans to ensure compliance with terms and coordinates with collections.
Experience
- Three to five years of similar or related experience.
- Strong understanding of lending processes, including underwriting, loan processing, and compliance with applicable lending regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a solid foundation in loan analysis and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of banking regulatory compliance standards related to lending, financial services regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ability to perform basic math accurately—such as calculating interest rates or payment schedules—and possess at least 10-key typing skills for efficient data entry.
Pay: $22.58 - $28.23 per hour
