Job Summary
Do you like to clean? Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Hotel Houseperson, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our hotel. You will be responsible for floor care, cleaning, and custodial tasks that keep our hotel running smoothly and beautifully.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all public areas, hallways, stairwells, and service corridors and breakfast areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
- Assists the Housekeeping Director in tasks such as running laundry to floors.
- Handle cleaning supplies and chemical agents safely by following safety data sheets (SDS) and proper handling procedures.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving furniture, supplies, or equipment to support housekeeping operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of guest rooms by delivering supplies, removing trash, and ensuring hallways are tidy and presentable.
- Support hotel management by ensuring sanitation standards are met consistently across all areas.
- Use vacuuming, floor care techniques, and industrial cleaning methods to maintain floors in pristine condition.
- Respond promptly to guest and management requests.
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping, custodial work, or janitorial services with a focus on hospitality environments is desirable but we would be willing to train the right person.
- One year of experience in a guest service role is required.
- Strong knowledge of floor cleaning techniques.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while performing sanitation and cleaning tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work together as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
