Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver products along assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Manage route driving efficiently, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs while maintaining accurate delivery schedules
- Assist with merchandising by organizing products in delivery vehicles and setting up displays at customer locations when needed
- Engage with customers professionally, answering questions, providing product information, and upselling additional items to enhance sales opportunities
- Handle heavy lifting of packages and merchandise, ensuring proper handling techniques to prevent damage or injury
- Use math skills for accurate pricing calculations, change handling, and verifying invoices during deliveries
- Maintain clear communication with dispatchers regarding delivery status, route changes, or any issues encountered on the road
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent required; clean driving record essential
- Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery services preferred; military driving experience is a plus
- Strong math skills for pricing, calculations, and transaction handling
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills to manage routes, schedules, and delivery paperwork accurately
- Knowledge of route planning and route driving best practices for efficiency and safety
- Prior experience in sales or upselling techniques is advantageous but not mandatory
