Job Summary
BNY is seeking a Fund Accounting Analyst to support fund accounting oversight, daily production activities, and core accounting operations within a fast-paced fund servicing environment. This role is responsible for supporting accounting deliverables across a range of fund types, performing reconciliations, reviewing financial data, and helping ensure the accuracy and timeliness of fund accounting processes in a production-driven environment. The successful candidate will bring a solid foundation in accounting or finance, an understanding of ledgers and reconciliations, and experience working in mutual fund accounting or a related accounting support role.
This role is based in Lake Mary, FL, with an expectation of 4 days onsite per week. The work schedule is 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Fund Accounting Support: Support core fund accounting activities across a variety of fund types, helping to ensure accurate and timely processing in a controlled production environment.
- Reconciliations & Ledger Analysis: Perform reconciliations, review ledger activity, and investigate breaks or discrepancies to support accounting integrity and operational accuracy.
- Production Environment Execution: Operate effectively in a deadline-driven production setting, completing daily tasks with strong attention to detail and a focus on quality.
- NAV & Valuation Support: Assist with daily NAV-related processes and pricing/valuation workflows, where applicable, while building an understanding of how these activities affect fund accounting outputs.
- Financial Statement Exposure: Support activities related to financial statement review, preparation, or validation, depending on team needs and level of experience.
- Fund Oversight & Control: Contribute to accounting oversight responsibilities while developing a broader understanding of fund structures, fund types, and accounting impacts.
- Issue Identification & Resolution: Identify discrepancies, escalate issues appropriately, and support resolution efforts to maintain the accuracy of accounting deliverables.
- Systems & Process Utilization: Use Excel and applicable fund accounting platforms to complete day-to-day work, analyze information, and support operational efficiency.
- Continuous Learning & Adaptability: Demonstrate strong learning agility and openness to being trained on fund accounting concepts, systems, and operational processes.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of fund accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including ledger activity and reconciliation concepts
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- Experience performing reconciliations in an accounting or operations environment
- Exposure to financial statements
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a production-driven, deadline-sensitive environment
- Strong learning agility and willingness to build expertise across fund types and accounting processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience with daily NAV production
- Experience in a large mutual fund organization
- Experience with Eagle and/or InvestOne
- Interest in or exposure to AI tools or software skills that may support operational efficiency
