Seeking dedicated paraprofessionals to serve as substitute instructional aides in a dynamic school environment. In this per diem role, you’ll have the flexibility to accept assignments as they fit your schedule while making a direct impact in students’ academic and personal development.
As a school-based substitute, you’ll provide essential one-on-one or small group support, working collaboratively with teachers and staff to ensure all students’ needs are met throughout the school day. Compassionate individuals with a passion for supporting children—especially those with special needs or behavioral challenges—will excel in this assignment-based opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver academic, social, and behavioral support to students in classroom settings
- Provide assistance one-on-one or in small groups as directed by school staff
- Help students with daily routines, transitions, and active participation
- Implement behavior plans and follow IEPs when applicable
- Aid with mobility, supervision, and personal care as needed
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements for School Compliance:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 18 years of age
- TB test (per district specifications)
- Physical ability to assist with standing, walking, and occasional lifting
- Up-to-date clearances or ability to obtain prior to starting
Preferred Experience:
- Previous work in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care environments
- Background supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Experience with CPI, PMT, or RBT preferred but not mandatory
- Reliable, patient, and collaborative approach
