The basic function of the Crew Leader is to provide supervision and coordination of all crew activities while on a job. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- License/Certification: Valid Driver’s License.
- Experience: Three or more year’s on-the-job experience preparing and installing various underground pipe systems and excavation projects.
- Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Must be detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking. Good verbal communication skills. Able to understand project drawings and determine requirements. Capable of managing field crew.
- Physical: Must be physically able to lift up to 100lbs and perform considerable stooping, kneeling and digging. Must have a full range of body movements including use of hands and ability to drive heavy duty site excavation and development equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage daily on-site activities
- Maximize crew productivity
- Coordinate all activities to maintain project schedule
- Ensure all work done is in accordance with the Company’s project plan
- Anticipate skill, material, equipment requirements and assure on site as needed
- Ability to recognize and deal with priorities
- Proper care and use of hand tools.
- Manage job site safety
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Accurate and timely completion of all paperwork
- Performs any other duties from time to time as may be assigned by the Operations Supervisor
Working Conditions
This position requires extensive physical activities working outdoors in all types of weather conditions at residential and commercial construction sites. At times, employees may have to work in constrained areas. Employees may be required to drive company vehicles to project sites located within a 120 mile radius of the company office. Job requires working with and around heavy duty site excavation and development equipment. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm with a 30 minute lunch break, (unpaid). Start time may vary due to the needs of the company.
