Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Hillcrest is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Waco, Texas.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative surgical practice providing comprehensive care throughout the patient journey, including pre-operative evaluations, post-operative management, outpatient clinic visits, and surgical support. Four days of operating room responsibilities each week

The Nurse Practitioner – Surgical Specialty provides direct patient care within the scope of practice established by the supervising physician. This role supports surgical patients through evaluation, treatment planning, procedures, and follow-up care in both outpatient and hospital settings.
Responsibilities include:
Performing comprehensive patient assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations
Developing evidence-based treatment plans and coordinating patient care
Ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic studies
Prescribing medications and treatments within scope of practice
Providing pre-operative and post-operative care
Performing procedures appropriate to training, experience, and delegated privileges
Collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Educating patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and recovery

Licensure & Certifications
Current Texas RN license or RN license with compact privilege
Current Texas APRN license
Current Nurse Practitioner certification appropriate to the patient population
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer
