Join our vibrant team as a Floater/ Assistant 0-3 Teacher, where your enthusiasm and dedication will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children in early elementary school. This paid position runs Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners’ lives. You will be responsible for supervising children, facilitating educational and recreational activities, and ensuring their well-being in a dynamic setting. Duties
- Supervise children in a variety of settings, including classrooms, activity areas, and outdoor spaces, ensuring safety at all times
- Plan and implement engaging educational activities, arts and crafts, sports, and recreational games aligned with developmental needs
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques
- Assist with homework help and tutoring to support academic progress
- Maintain clear communication with parents regarding children's daily activities, progress, and any concerns
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response plans
- Support children with special education needs by adapting activities to accommodate individual requirements
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to create an organized and positive learning environment
- Knowledge of first aid protocols, CPR certification, AED operation, and emergency procedures
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; camp experience or babysitting background is a plus
- Familiarity with childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Ability to engage children through creative teaching methods such as theater activities or sports coaching
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and connecting with students’ families
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with youth in a supportive environment
