Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator

Position Summary
The EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Coordinator supports the implementation and maintenance of safety and environmental programs across manufacturing operations. This role assists with compliance efforts, training coordination, inspections, and documentation to help ensure a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. The EHS Coordinator works closely with cross-functional teams to promote safety awareness and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities

- Assist in implementing and maintaining OSHA programs, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, confined space entry, respiratory protection, and personal protective equipment.
- Support the development and upkeep of EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable to local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and environmental checks; report findings and assist in corrective action follow-up.
- Assist with incident investigations by gathering information, documenting findings, and supporting root cause analysis efforts.
- Coordinate and deliver EHS training, including onboarding and refresher sessions; ensure training records are accurate and up to date.Maintain EHS documentation, records, and compliance logs, including safety metrics and reports. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, QA, and HR to reinforce EHS policies and safe work practices. Support environmental program activities such as waste management, chemical handling, and sustainability initiatives.
- Maintain and oversee the Learning Management System (LMS), including course deployment, user management, and reporting on safety training completion and manager follow up.
- Assist in emergency response planning and participate in drills and preparedness activities.
- Promote a positive safety culture by encouraging safe behaviors, reporting hazards, and supporting safety initiatives.
- Assist with preparation for regulatory inspections and audits by organizing documentation and ensuring readiness.
- Meet all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements and participate in food safety meetings as required.
- Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture by following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations; identify and communicate workplace hazards and take corrective action as needed.

Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in EHS or a related role within manufacturing, industrial, or production environments preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations; willingness to learn and apply regulatory requirements.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with EHS software or ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Work Expectations
- This is a regular, full-time position with frequent in-person meetings with potential, new and existing customers.
- This position needs to have the ability to be available for work daily and extended hours as necessary.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
- This position requires long periods sitting/working at a computer, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- The employee should be able to lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel
This position requires up to 5% of travel.
