Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring to ensure timely meal assembly
- Assist with cooking and food preparation tasks following established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Support the culinary team in meal assembly and plating to ensure presentation quality
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination and ensure proper food handling
- Help with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supplies needed
- Contribute to catering events by preparing large quantities of food with precision and efficiency
Experience
- Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Background in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating strong kitchen skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Familiarity with culinary practices including knife skills, meal preparation, and food industry standards
- Experience in catering or serving is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
