Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. In this role, you will work closely with clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, memory care units, and hospice care environments. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality care while promoting the dignity and independence of each individual.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Implement and follow care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and preferences.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Monitor and document changes in clients' physical or emotional conditions and report them to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction.
- Support clients with medication management as directed by healthcare providers.
- Utilize conflict management skills to address any issues that may arise during care delivery.
Requirements
- Previous experience in senior care, assisted living, or hospice care is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of memory care techniques and case management practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility needs.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Certification as a nurse or relevant training in caregiving is advantageous but not required.
