Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Digger to join our dynamic construction team. As a Digger, you will play a vital role in excavating, trenching, and moving earth and materials to support various construction projects. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation and adherence to safety regulations will ensure efficient project progress while maintaining a safe work environment. Duties
- Operate excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and other heavy construction machinery with precision and safety.
- Perform routine maintenance and mechanical checks on construction equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Locate underground utilities accurately using utility locating tools before excavation begins.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Assist in horizontal drilling, paving, and tanker operations as needed for various project phases.
- Support construction site activities by preparing sites, digging trenches, moving materials, and assisting other machinery operators.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and safety inspections.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, backhoes, and horizontal drilling equipment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of construction machinery.
- Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and safety procedures on job sites.
- Construction site experience with knowledge of utility locating techniques is highly desirable.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
