About Us:
We have been installing, sanding, and finishing hardwood floors in the Wichita area for over a decade — residential remodels, new construction, and commercial work for area general contractors. Under new ownership as of July 2026, we are investing in the field organization, and this is a new seat on the team.
The Role:
The Field Supervisor owns what happens on the job site. You will run point across four crews plus subcontractor crews, making sure every job is staged, staffed, and finished to standard — and that the customer's last impression is a good one. You will report to the Owner and work alongside our Commercial Sales lead and Office Manager. Your first ninety days will be spent training directly under the outgoing owner, who is staying on through the transition.
What You Will Do:
▪ Visit active job sites daily — verify scope, subfloor conditions, moisture readings, and progress against schedule
▪ Set and enforce quality standards for demo, install, sanding, staining, and finishing; catch problems before the customer does
▪ Coordinate daily with the office on scheduling, crew assignments, and material staging so crews are never waiting on anything
▪ Handle field problem-solving: conditions that don't match the estimate, change orders, callbacks, and warranty visits
▪ Walk jobs at completion with the customer or general contractor; build and close out punch lists
▪ Coach and develop crew leads and helpers; run safety talks and hold crews to safe work practices
▪ Oversee subcontractor crews — set expectations, inspect work, and verify it meets our standard before payment
▪ Account for company trucks, trailers, and equipment; keep tools maintained and jobs supplied
▪ Verify crew time entries are accurate and submitted on schedule
What we are looking for:
▪ Five or more years in flooring, finish carpentry, or a related trade, with at least two years leading crews
▪ Hands-on knowledge of hardwood sanding and finishing — you can look at a floor and know whether it's right
▪ Comfortable reading plans and takeoffs and translating them for a crew
▪ Able to hold people accountable without blowing up the relationship
▪ Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
▪ Comfortable with a smartphone, scheduling apps, and photo documentation from the field
▪ Able to lift 50+ lbs, kneel, and stay on your feet on active job sites
Nice to have:
▪ NWFA certification (Installer, Sand & Finish, or Inspector)
▪ Commercial general contractor experience — submittals, schedules, and jobsite coordination
▪ Bilingual English / Spanish
Compensation & benefits:
▪ $25 - $30 per hour (dependent on experience)
▪ Health, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days; company-paid life insurance
▪ Paid holidays and paid time off
▪ Year-end bonus
▪ Company vehicle when available or mileage allowance
▪ Monday–Friday daytime schedule; occasional early starts or weekend work when a job requires it
