EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As an Electrician 1, you will be supporting the electrical needs of the Capitol Complex and nearby buildings by handling a wide range of skilled tasks. You work helps ensure that essential equipment and systems remain safe and reliable. In this role, you will perform the following duties:

Electrical Systems Work: Install, maintain, and repair wiring, lighting, controls, and other electrical components

Code Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date understanding of National Electrical Code standards

Troubleshooting: Identify and correct power failures and short circuits using proper tools and procedures

Equipment Use: Operate volt-ohm-milliamp meters, amprobes, meggers, and similar devices to complete assigned work

Project Preparation: Follow blueprints and coordinate with other trades to prepare materials and support smooth project flow
Note: This position is considered essential. You will be required to report in-office during emergencies and office closings.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
