Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced ER Nurse Director to lead our Emergency Department with energy, expertise, and a passion for exceptional patient care. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Emergency Department, ensuring delivery of timely, effective, and patient-centered care.
- Supervise nursing staff, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and promoting a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and excellence.
- Develop and implement care protocols aligned with best practices in critical care, acute care, and emergency medicine.
- Monitor patient flow and staffing levels to optimize shift management and reduce wait times while maintaining safety standards.
- Oversee documentation review, medical records management, and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems to ensure accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and efficient recordkeeping.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, case managers, social workers, and ancillary staff—to coordinate comprehensive care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and supply inventories to sustain operational efficiency without compromising quality.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as Medicare requirements and safety standards related to physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and patient monitoring.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, risk management, and resident satisfaction—especially in relation to residents’ <PERSON>.
Requirements
- Proven experience in critical care or acute care settings with demonstrated leadership in an emergency or hospital environment.
- Prior management or supervising experience in healthcare settings; nurse management skills are essential.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and documentation review processes.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and medical records management; ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.
- Experience in assisted living or home health environments is a plus; familiarity with hospice care is advantageous.
- Excellent understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure resident privacy and data security.
- Ability to manage shift schedules effectively while maintaining high standards of patient monitoring and care plans.
- Strong case management skills with an emphasis on Medicare regulations and reimbursement processes related to emergency services.
