American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a WA or compact license, prior travel experience, and Level I/II trauma exposure.

Work in a high-volume Emergency Department with combined Adult/Pediatric patient population
-
Department includes Ambulance Triage, ED Holding, and Lobby Triage areas with 11 hallway beds and 29 standard beds for a total of 40 beds
-
Patient ratio typically 1:4-5

Utilizes Epic charting system, experience preferred

Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
-
Weekend rotation required every other weekend
-
Floating to different campuses required
-
Schedule posted every 6 weeks with shift start times varying between 0700, 0900, 1200, 1500, and 1900
-
Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration

Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
-
Trauma Level I and II experience preferred

Charge RN experience preferred
-
Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
-
Skilled in ABG interpretation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and central line care
-
Experience with blood product administration and continuous IV sedation
-
Experience with IV vasopressors and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
-
Neurological care experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
-
Experience with cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
-
Experience in trauma care including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, head injury, and near drowning
-
Ortho trauma experience
-
Isolation precautions and PPE proficiency
-
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
-
Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric cases including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and respiratory emergencies
-
Perform procedures such as chest tube setup/care, RSI, trach care, ventilator management, cardioversion/defibrillation, CRRT/dialysis, 12-lead EKG, and rapid infuser use

May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location

Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Non-holiday time off requests are limited to 5 days, with additional days added to the end of the contract

Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius or be willing to accept a lower bill rate as a local candidate

Former Providence-affiliated permanent employees must have a minimum 3-month separation from the health system to qualify

First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Candidates cannot be within 50 miles of the facility if returning as a former permanent employee
