Performs specific functions that are unique to the Business Office. Performs general accounting functions such as journal entries, general ledger account reconciliation, cash entries, and maintains various financial systems through advance use of technology.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs monthly accounting duties including journal entries, account analysis, and financial statement review related to Housing affiliates of Community Services for Every1 in accordance with month-end schedules
2. Reviews and approves Community Services and affiliate general ledger for accuracy.
3. Prepares monthly rental invoices
4. Prepares cash application entries.
5. Records expense accruals to ensure proper period accounting.
6. Prepares Financial Statements for designated programs and entities.
7. Responsible for creating efficiencies using technology.
8. Prepare analytical reports related to financial transactions.
9. Assists in assembling records for various audits and financial reviews.
10. Performs other accounting duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
a. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, OR
b. Associate’s degree in accounting with 2 years of related experience with at least 1 year of Supervisory experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
a. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
b. Learned knowledge of accounting functions and procedures.
c. Proficient in the use of computers, general organization, and reconciliation skills.
d. Capable of organizing information and self-monitoring of completion of responsibilities and duties.
e. Good spelling and grammatical skills.
Physical and Mental Requirements
a. Exercising independent judgment, concentrating, thinking, communicating, interacting with others, managing multiple tasks and coping with stressful situations and deadlines.
b. Staying awake and alert while on duty.
c. Ability to perform sedentary physical activity of an administrative nature.
