ABOUT CATALYST ATX
Catalyst ATX is a residential development and construction company based in Austin. We manufacture modular homes in a factory, transport them across Central Texas, and set them by crane on foundations we develop ourselves; alongside infill communities and ground-up residential construction. Development, construction, and delivery are all handled in-house, from land acquisition through permitting and final closeout.
We've been building since 2016, have delivered over $100M in projects, and have $10M+ in signed work for the next twelve months.
THE ROLE
The Construction Manager leads all field operations from site development through project completion. You'll manage multiple active residential projects at once, with real authority over subcontractors, scheduling, and trade sequencing; including the crane operations, transport logistics, and module set days that come with modular construction.
We're looking for someone with genuine field experience: a leader who has physically built, understands how projects actually come together, and earns the respect of subcontractors because of it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Field Operations
- Manage multiple active residential construction projects from site prep through Certificate of Occupancy
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trade partners
- Execute the project schedule and sequence trades to keep work progressing on time
- Monitor daily production and job progress, and identify schedule impacts early
- Resolve field issues proactively to minimize delays
- Help Coordinate module deliveries, crane operations, and set activities
Quality Control
- Ensure construction meets company standards and contract documents
- Perform routine quality inspections and complete punch lists before turnover
- Coordinate warranty and corrective work
Coordination & Leadership
- Coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions
- Communicate project status to leadership
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors
- Help train and mentor field staff as the team grows
WHAT YOU BRING
- Extensive field construction experience; you've physically worked in the field, not just managed from the office
- Experience managing multiple residential projects simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, sequencing, and trade coordination
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Comfortable with tablets, construction software, and Microsoft Office in daily operations
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $95K–$125K base salary
- Bonus program tied to schedule and budget performance
- Gym membership
- Flex Fridays
- A full pipeline of signed work and a company that promotes from within
WHAT TO EXPECT
Construction isn't a 40-hour-a-week industry, and some seasons require long hours and flexibility. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of outcomes, manages budgets carefully, and wants to grow with the company long-term.
