Job Overview

Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health status is maintained and report any concerns promptly
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities within electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease through memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Support residents with assisted living needs by preparing nutritious meals, assisting with feeding when required, and maintaining a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks
- Engage residents in social activities and recreational programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to develop personalized care plans that reflect each resident’s unique needs and preferences
Skills
- Proven experience in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or retirement homes; home & community care experience is highly valued
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care techniques, and behavior management strategies
- Ability to perform first aid procedures confidently and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate documentation of resident information and care activities
- Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with residents with disabilities or developmental disabilities
- Competence in vital signs measurement, medication administration, and assisting with ADLs using proper techniques and safety protocols
- Experience operating mobility aids like Hoyer lifts and driving responsibilities for community outings or appointments is a plus
